Exactly what is a Mutant Collab?
These are special collaborations that go outside the realm of normalcy. The intent when collaborating here, is to think of the most different, (and sometimes downright strange) ways of finishing a drawing. O_o

Here are some examples below: (In the gallery, you'll find these available to work on!)

See what a difference a collab partner might make! And no work goes without credit here.
Within the rules and guidelines below, I will explain further, how to participate in this group.

Group Policies and Rules:

So, how this works is, you submit a piece of artwork that's only half done. Half of it will be missing, this means that you can even take a copy of a finished piece of your work, and remove half of it, and submit it into this group, for others to finish with their own styling and ideas. Essentially, you are fishing for collaborators. And even if they're not a group member, someone who watches you can still see your half submissions and you can work together privately if you like.
  • Make sure to have your name somewhere on the half of the work that is yours.
  • A mutant collaboration, is an art piece where two people have each drawn a significant portion of what the final image contains. Aim for a 50/50 split.
  • All good collaborations will have a noticeable divide in value, style, or ideas between the two portions that were worked on by each artist.
  • Every deviation submitted and accepted here that is a complete drawing, must have 2 names on it. The name of you, and of the person who worked with you.
  • By submitting to this group, you recognize that people will be saving your work that is found here; potentially printing it out, drawing over it, and then re-uploading it as complete. If what you have drawn is a particularly important idea, or you are scared of a special idea or character being stolen, draw something different.
  • Removing an artist's name from any artwork and uploading it as your own will be seen as downright art theft and you will be permanently blocked from this group, and also likely by the person you stole from.
  • When you submit a completed piece of work, be sure to tag the artist that submitted the original half, along with a link to the piece you used, so that he/she may comment and favorite your brilliance in the good spirit of artsmanship.
  • All art submitted to this group belongs to the one who drew it, but each person who works with you, is permitted to upload a finished collaboration containing your half of the work along with his/hers, providing you are tagged and credited.
  • It is recommended that your submissions are of uncolored linework/sketches, but colored is also acceptable.
  • If your half of the mutant collab is linework only, do not be surprised if someone who finishes the other half, also colors in the linework you did! This is welcome, provided they do not erase or modify the line work, and that what you contributed can still clearly be seen.
  • "Mutant Collab" will not be held responsible for any arguments or issues that may arise from poor teamwork skills and attitudes.

The following types of artwork are not allowed;

Anything x rated or in need of a mature filter. (This is a family friendly group Stare)

Artwork that you have found, made by someone else, that you have cut in half. No, I disagree!

Any art that goes against DeviantArt's own policies. deviantART

Thank you for reading this far and participating in Mutant Collab! We wish you all fun and happy art times! :squee:

hi! I have a question!
when we submit half works, does it have to be something that I only drew half of it
or can it be a sketch I already made, and then cut in half and submitted?
